Starlink Subscribers and ARPU
Starlink operates as an internal division within SpaceX rather than an independent public corporation. To review how that division affects public share ownership, see our guide on whether Starlink is publicly traded.
According to the Form S-1 registration statement behind the IPO, Starlink customer counts expanded rapidly between 2023 and early 2026. The service held 2.3 million subscribers in 2023, 4.4 million in 2024, 8.9 million in 2025, and 10.3 million by the end of March 2026. Across full-year 2025, the Connectivity division accounted for $11.4 billion of the company’s $18.7 billion total revenue, which equaled about 61 percent of all SpaceX revenue.
ARPU stood at $99 per month in 2023 and declined to $66 per month during the first quarter of 2026. That change marked a $33 monthly decline per subscriber. Published retail service rates appear in our guide to Starlink pricing.
| Period | Starlink Subscriber Total | Monthly ARPU | Reporting Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2.3 million | $99 | Form S-1 |
| 2024 | 4.4 million | Not in our sources | Form S-1 |
| 2025 | 8.9 million | Not in our sources | Form S-1 |

The third-quarter release is where the next subscriber and ARPU figures would show up, if SpaceX reports them. Compare any new figures with the 10.3 million and $66 baseline above.
The AI Segment and Capex
SpaceX recorded a $1.2 billion operating loss in its AI segment during the second quarter of 2026.
Al Jazeera reported $18.37 billion spent on Starlink and Starship expansion efforts, a figure that excludes spending on AI infrastructure. We could not confirm the period that figure covers or a total capex number, so check the filing before comparing it with later numbers.
In the second-quarter commentary, Elon Musk stated that “Starmind” AI satellites are expected to launch next year. Check whether the third-quarter tables break out capital spending and the AI segment result.
What Is Not Known Before the Report
Al Jazeera’s report of the second-quarter results did not mention formal guidance for the third quarter of 2026. The October 16 scheduling notice also contained no financial or operational figures.
We did not verify an analyst consensus figure for this page. Check your brokerage or a market data provider for consensus estimates.
